Reporter's Notebook: Day Two, Photo Update

Events continue to unfold here at Disneyland as more 50th Anniversary special attractions are unveiled. Celebrities continue to arrive and even Donald Duck gets into the act. Here's a brief photo update of some of this afternoons activities.

Photo Update

Bakersfield, California native and former Disneyland ride operator, Dick Cook Chairman of Walt Disney Pictures.

Donald Duck and Steve Martin unveil the Disneyland the First 50 Magical Years exhibit.

In true Disneyland fashion at the last moment something goes horribly wrong and Donald is left unveiling "Great Moments with Steve Martin.

One of the highlights of the exhibit is a scale model of Disneyland as it looked on opening day July 17, 1955.

Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams ran three times this day for Disneyland's special guests. Pictured here, the very popular Pinochio unit.

One visitor was overheard to say that, "this thing (the Ursula unit) is gonna scare kids to death." The giant Ursual figure is not only fully in sync with her own dialogue, she also sings along, in sync with the parades signature performance stop tune, "Welcome."

In 1955 children across America were asked by various news organiztions why they wanted to visit Disneyland. The most frequent response they received was, "that's where Mickey Mouse lives."
